GOLDA MEIR SQUARE IN KYIV
GOLDA MEIR SQUARE IN KYIV
The project celebrates the life of Golda Meir – one of the most distinguished global leaders of the 20th century, born in Kyiv.
On January 23, 2024, at the Golda film's premiere, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko proudly announced that the city’s administration, with the support of philanthropists, will develop the Golda Meir Square project in the city of Kyiv. Despite the challenges facing Ukraine and acknowledging the three years of committed effort on the project, Golda Meir’s life will be honored.
The Golda Meir Square is being developed in the historic heart of Kyiv, in the Podil district, at 17-19-21 Borychiv Tik Street. This area was once leased to the Embassy of the Russian Federation for the construction of the new embassy building. The contract was terminated in 2014.
To bring the project to life, the team has engaged several architectural firms, two from Ukraine, one German, and one Spanish. Currently, 5 concepts are being evaluated.
